Artemis was the first Iranian woman and the only female navigator about 2480 years ago. She received her admiralty commission from Xerxes and was the first woman to command the sea in the history of world navigation. In 484 BC, Xerxes ordered her to participate in the war with Greece. Youtab is another Iranian woman who was the sister of Ariobarzanes of Persis, the wise general of the imperial army of Darius Shah. Atossa, Daughter of Cyrus the Great
