Archaeologists believe that it dates back to Seljuk and Gurkanian periods, however it seems much older to more than thousand years ago. On the other hand, from Safavid, tourists and passengers have mentioned this garden in their texts. At the end of Zandieh, it was in the possession of Qashqai chiefs for almost seventy-five years.

This garden is on a rectangular land which is ​​110,000 square meters. The main building consists of three floors that has a beautiful arch and a panel with three crescents which has its own special decoration and art. The seven-colored tiles are so amazing, which are on the windowsills of the western facade of the mansion.

Persian Tiling Art in Eram Garden reflect the reliefs of Achaemenid kings and soldiers, flowers and landscapes. The reliefs of Darius the Great and the hunting of deer by leopards are very nice, which amazes any viewer. Water reservoirs are so important for Persian gardens and have different dimensions. They were built on the certain axes which is the characteristic of Safavid period in Isfahan.

There are various inscriptions in the garden, most of which date back to Qajar period. The six inscriptions in eastern side of the main pavilion are on marble and in Nasta’liq script. The corneal inscriptions, on both sides of the porch show the image of an Achaemenid soldier holding a spear and mace. Several valuable mosaic tile inscriptions are on the head of the mansion.

In the main mansion, there is a hall that is mirrored in the eye that its ceiling decoration is beautiful paintings. At the top of this hall, beautiful columns with iron windows give a more attractive view to the mansion. This historical Persian garden was included in the list of national monuments of Iran in 1974 due to its unique architectural effects. It is interesting to know that Eram Garden in Shiraz is one of the 9 gardens in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
