Hawraman or Uramanat is the name of historical regions with stepped texture and special customs. It include parts of Sarvabad, Sanandaj and Kamyaran cities in Kurdistan province and Ravansar, Paveh, Javanrood and Thalas Babajani cities in Kermanshah province. The main part of the cultural landscape of Hawraman includes the valleys of Zhahorud, Uraman Takht and Lahun.

According to evidence, there are people lived in Hawraman area about 40,000 years ago, which is the Paleolithic period. This area is near the villages of Nav, Hajij, and Spree. The tools of cavemen, the remains of stoves and some bones that look like the skeleton of a mountain goat are the findings from Merv and Gilan caves. Researchers discovered Neanderthal human bones in the Shanidar and Biston caves which dates back to about 40,000 years old. Over time, people migrate to this area.
Researchers have found evidence near the village of Rovar, including a large stone tomb with a domed roof and a number of houses. These findings show that humans lived in the Iron Age in this area, which is more than 3,000 years ago. These findings are among the most historical works of this region and its architecture is related to the western region of Zagros.
