Persepolis is in fact the elegance and creativity of Iranian artists in using the culture of different peoples. They were Egyptians, Babylonians, Greeks, Medes and Armenians which were under the rule and command of Achaemenian dynasty. Darius aimed to build an unparalleled capital, and for this purpose, he chose the vast plain of Marvdasht with its ancient background.

The reason for the naming of Parseh was the Persian people led by the Achaemenids. They called their residence Persia, where the Greeks called it “Persis”, and today we call it Persia. According to the inscriptions of Xerxes on the Gate of all Nations, and also Elamites, the original name of Persepolis is the “City of Persia”. During Sassanid period, this building called a hundred pillars, and in the Islamic period, it was the throne of Solomon. But later, people attributed it to Jamshid mythical king.
